This interestingly named, Gunpowder tea, is an explosion of enjoyment and refreshment for anyone lucky enough to get their hands on a cup. This unfermented green tea hails from Chinas Zhejiang Province and dates all the way back to the Tang Dynasty 618-907.
The tea gets its unusual name from the way the leaves are dried and rolled into small pellets which resemble musket balls. Rolling tea leaves leaves them less vulnerable to harm or damage, thus the leaves retain their stunning flavour and aroma.
