Product description:
A smooth, full bodied, mild coffee which will suit all tastes. Grown in Queensland, near the Great Barrier Reef.
Taste Notes: A full bodied coffee with balanced acidity, chocolate, caramel & butter.
One of the world's rarest coffees, Skybury is grown at an altitude of 1800 feet on Queensland's Atherton Tablelands, an hour west of Cairns, and fed by the Mareeba irrigation system.
In growing Bourbon and Typica types, Skybury produces 80% of Australias coffee in a natural rainforest environment and with a limited spray policy, due to Australia being free from all the common coffee problems such as rust, coffee berry disease, Fusarium bark disease, and the coffee borer beetle.
All processing is fully mechanised with the systems for harvesting, sorting, grading and bagging meeting a high Quality Assurance Programme.
The wet factory can handle 4 tonnes of processed coffee per day, while the dried coffee is stored for 30 days before hulling to assure a consistent moisture content before being screened for size, bagged, and weighed before transportation.
